The Marine Construction Superintendent specifically represents the company’s best interests in the delivery of assigned marine construction projects, and requires a good understanding of marine equipment positioning methods and grade controls. Both roles involve providing leadership to ensure the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations, implementing the field aspects of agreed project plans and schedules, including safety, quality control, and the delegation of work to field team members, trades, and suppliers. Reporting to the Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring team members are equipped with the information, knowledge, training, and supervision to work safely
- Providing hourly workers with mentorship as needed
- Identifying, controlling, and communicating all known hazards to team members under your supervision
- Performing other duties, functions, and services, consistent with status or vocational ability, as may be required from time to time
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in civil construction, along with Post-Secondary education in a related discipline. An equivalent combination of technical training plus extensive experience/knowledge of construction may also be considered. As our ideal candidate, you have advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, including experience with continuous shoring materials and methods (sheet pile/slide rail, etc.), expertise with the materials and methods of large diameter welded and/or fused pressure pipe installation (welded steel and heat-fused HDPE), as well as deep excavation experience. In addition, you have strong communication skills (both verbal and written), a solid understanding of cost control and budget management, and the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and surveys. You also have a collaborative mindset in regard to working with the project team, owners and clients, as well as the proven ability to successfully manage jobsite crew.
Above all, you have a safety and production-driven mindset, and you believe that the two are not mutually exclusive.
